Planning guide

1. Choose your phase by product

Each phase fills the complex with different exhibitors. Match your categories first, then book travel. If you source across categories, you may need two phases.

2. Register as a buyer

Overseas buyers need a buyer badge. Apply through the official Buyer Service System before you travel and bring the passport you registered with.

3. Plan your stay around the breaks

There are setup breaks between phases with no exhibition. They are useful for factory visits or market visits outside the complex.

4. Build a hall shortlist

Note company, product section, area, hall, floor and booth for each supplier. Group meetings by area — walking between areas takes time.

5. Getting there

Guangzhou Metro Line 8 serves the complex: Xingangdong station for Areas A and D, Pazhou station for Areas B and C. Allow extra time at opening hours.

6. Prepare for supplier talks

Bring target specs, quantities, destination and certifications your market requires. Business cards and a phone with offline notes still matter.

Questions buyers ask

When is the Canton Fair held?

The Canton Fair (China Import and Export Fair) runs twice a year in Guangzhou — a spring and an autumn session — each split into three phases with different product categories. See the dates above; we only list dates once the organizer publishes them.

Which phase should I attend?

Choose by product category rather than by travel convenience. Each phase fills the halls with completely different exhibitors. Tell us what you source and we will help you match it to the right phase.

Do I need a buyer badge?

Yes. Overseas buyers enter with a buyer badge applied for through the official Canton Fair Buyer Service System. Pre-registering before you travel is strongly recommended. Always follow the organizer’s current instructions.

Where is the fair held?

At the China Import and Export Fair Complex on Pazhou Island, Haizhu District, Guangzhou. The complex is divided into Areas A, B, C and D and is served by Guangzhou Metro Line 8 (Xingangdong and Pazhou stations).

Can you arrange factory visits?

Where suppliers agree and schedules allow, we can help coordinate factory visits before, during or after your phase. Availability depends on the supplier and location.

Can you ship what I buy to my country?

Yes. We arrange shipping from China to your destination. Routes, transit times and costs depend on your cargo, destination and regulations, so every shipment is quoted individually.
